It may not be Aruba but...

the Edgefield was awesome!

We stayed in the Ringo Starr Room



Here is the view from our window.

The place is amazing. Filled with interesting artwork, 11 restaurants & bars, golf course, movie theater, brewery, distillery, glass blowing, clay making, gardens, soaking pool & spa.
I am sure I am leaving something out but they really do have something for everyone.

You can see art where ever you go, on doorways, light fixtures, fuse boxes,
you name it and they have slapped some crazy paint job on it.

We loved the soaking pool, so warm & relaxing.


Looks like spring has arrived!

What a nice little get-a-way for the two of us. We went wine tasting, had nice meals, played games, wandered the grounds, went swimming, played pool & just soaked in each others company. It is really nice to spend time alone & it is even nicer to know Ava is being well taken care of while we are gone. She had a "date night" with grandma, they went to the park, went swimming together & jumped on the trampoline.

We are already plotting our next Edgefield adventure,
maybe with couples next time?

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
