Crazy Love Gamble-Style

Yesterday we had a blast making cookies with these two!    How cute are they in their Star Wars costumes?    Their happy little faces are the best!!  Totally worth the mess!! My issue with making cookies with kids, beyond the mess, is that I end up eating the cookies and the dough, also children get bored with the process a few cookies in so you end up doing all the work.  This time I had the great idea to give half the dough away before we started. which made the whole process quicker, then I sent the rest of the cookies home with our friends, PERFECT.  I consumed less than one cookie, yay!  Ok, truth be told I may of eaten some of the dough before they arrived... Really fun project, we will for sure be doing this again soon. This is the BEST recipe , if you feel like making some too.  : ) Happy Weekend! xoxo

We had a really fun day yesterday, considering we are all still really sad about Oreo.   I just adore her little face.   Norah told me that her cat ran away, and she wished he would come home.   I reminded her that he had died.   Norah:  Can we get a new cat mommy? Me:  Maybe someday. Norah:  Sunday!  Okay! Me: No, Norah, SOMEDAY. Norah:  Okay, how about while I'm taking my nap? I got the girls out the door early, ready to go see Santa at Pump it Up, this is a tradition for us, we've done the last few years.  I love it because there is no mall line or mall price, they let me take as many pictures as I want and give the kids a cookie to boot!  Who wouldn't love that?  Pockets!!  She keeps telling me that she's grown up now.  Sadly, I think it's sort of true.  Then two seconds later she wants to pretend to be my baby.  I'm okay with that.    In fact, I think I ...

I love this time of year. We are making all our final plans for the Thanksgiving holiday. It is so beautiful outside with all the pretty, colorful leaves clinging to their last days. We have so much to be thankful for. Every night before I fall asleep I go over my list of all my blessings. That list is so long! And I know I am always missing so many things. We are very lucky. Could they be more adorable? Love these crazy girls. They crack me up. Bubbles! Helping mommy cook. With her prince. All over the place. I am really enjoying cooking right now, focusing on hot, hearty soups & stews. Tis that time of year.   This is one of my new favorites right now, Carrot Ginger Soup .  Ava is still sick.  She woke up crying, feverish and miserable.   She then fell back to sleep and woke up some time later all  sweaty and hot, screaming that her tummy still hurts. I took her to the doctor yesterday, they did a bunch of tests and  decided that it was her throat that is the issue but that she doesn't have strep and she doesn't have mono.   So I guess that is good right? In truth, knowing what she doesn't have isn't all that helpful in getting her better. They told us to wait to see if her fever lasts 3 more days. We are on day 6 of a fever, day 8 of being sick.  I just want her to feel better!    To help the children cope we have gotten some old toys down out of the attic. Norah likes them, Ava LOVES them. Don't let Ava fool you in these pictures. Poor girl doesn't feel well but she is loving  these toys.  She also loves watching movies ...
