Crazy Love Gamble-Style

We've had an appointment coming for some time, honestly, I keep re-scheduling it, better things have come up.  But none the less, Norah was very excited to go to her first dentist appointment. Ava has always loved the dentist , I take her to a pediatric dentistry so they totally cater to the kid crowd, it's pretty fun. I was a little worried about Norah actually liking it once she realized what they were going to do to her... Thankfully Ava had her very excited, so we were off to a good start.  She's such a good sister.  No pictures in the car Mom!!   Isn't any place sacred??   They literally RAN into the dentist office.  Norah played in the waiting room, they have lots of toys, well she played until she saw that her sister was watching TV, then that won out.  She happily went back to the office when they called her name.  She waited & watched while Ava ha...

Ava just got back from the dentist.   This is her third appointment and I am happy to say  she is still under the false impression that the dentist is super fun and full of complete awesomeness.   Good luck holding on to that disillusion forever my dear child.   Here is why she likes it: first off I take her to a pediatric dentistry, so it's basically like going to the Disney of dentists. There are movies to watch in the waiting room,  every toy you can imagine and everything in the  office is mini and designed just for kids. They really know how to handle children. They get down right on her level and take her at her own pace.  Also if they have a "trouble" child in they shield the "still happy to be here" kids from the ones not having fun, as not to taint their experience. This is great because Ava is a total sponge, once she figures out this stuff isn't ALL fun and games she will be runn...

Two weeks ago I made Ava a dentist appointment. She has since been impatiently waiting for her big day. Yesterday, the day finally arrived. This is right outside the office of The Shoebox Pediatric Dentistry , She says "I am soooo excited to go to the dentist!!" ( Yay me for not letting her know my true feelings about dentist visits!) The office was really cool. It was packed full of kid friendly toys & activities. There was a little kitchen and a train set. Oh and movies playing for all the little TV addicts. (Yes I did drag Ava away from that movie so she could show me all the toys!!) When it was Ava's turn the dental hygienist came out and offered her a sticker and asked her all the typical get-to-know- you questions, how old are you?, when is your birthday?
