Ponytails & Cake

Whenever Ava's hair is in a ponytail it just about kills me. It makes her look so grown up.


It is really hard to get the full cuteness in pictures because you need to see it from both angles, front & side to really take it all in.



We visited with Grandpa today. I think he is sort of starting to adjust.

They have a food demonstration every Thursday at the same time the maid comes to clean his room and today they were making Chocolate Mint Swirl Cake.

They must of known he was coming, this is right up his tree. It even had little Andes Mints cut up on top. Those delicious little mints have always made me think of my Grandpa.

A very nice lady came and spoke with us for a bit and she asked Grandpa if this place is starting to feel like home. He said "A little bit" and I think he meant it.

He hasn't even mentioned leaving in over a week now.

I would call that PROGRESS.

His room was sparkling clean when we returned. Now if I could just figure out a way for them to do my house while we are gone we will really be in business!!

Your little Ava is adorable.

When I say gifted headband, I mean it was given to us as a gift. Which headbands are you interested in? Most of them are made by my sisters in law...or my friends. I can definitely put you in contact with them.

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
