Happy Friday!!

Image
I'm excited to be off to my first women's retreat with the ladies from my church, I'm so happy Jessica is coming too, yay!  It should be a great weekend!   I spent yesterday tearing down the new pool.  I noticed how crazy dirty it was getting so I went about attempting to clean it.  Um, how??  There is no drain and after bailing a million buckets of water out and trying over and over to siphon the nasty water, I finally gave up & had John help me flip it over, leaving a slimy mess.   In the middle of looking up ways to clean the pool and siphon the water I came across all kind of articles about the bacteria breeding ground that I was fostering.  YUCK. The whole time all I could think was WE ARE NOT KEEPING THIS POOL.  I explained to the kids that it just wasn't working out.  I promised them we'd get a smaller pool, that was easier to clean.  They were surprisingly understanding about this disappointing turn of events. ...

Ready for a GOOD weekend!

Image
We've had a good solid FOREVER of sickness in this house, I'm totally over it!  Not over it as in well, just over being sick.  So here's to hoping we all wake up healthy & able to fully enjoy our weekend!  Strangely this is the same outfit I vacuum in too...  She's innocent, right?  Bring the 80's back I guess : ) She's up to something I'm sure of it!! Sadly we are missing a family beach trip this weekend but we are really excited for a date night Saturday and the girls and I are looking forward to spending Sunday celebrating the wonderful dads we've been blessed with!   Have a great weekend!    Oh and as I was writing this at 10:26pm Thursday night, I just heard voices coming from the girl's room, I went and checked on them and Ava was all nicely tucked into her bed and Norah was sitting up against Ava's head with her arms wrapped around her asking for her to read her more books, more books, more...

Perfect Weekend

Image
We had a really nice weekend.   Perfect, really.  So as I mentioned before, we shipped the kids off,  Ava to Jessica's and Norah to Auntie Linda's house.  We got the night off!  From BOTH kids!!  YAY! And what do 2 happily married people do with all this glorious kid-free time you ask??  Well first we went out to dinner.  We went to Karam , it was  so good!!  We had been there once before but I don't exactly remember that very well.  (That's a whole different story) but  this time was MUCH more enjoyable!  The food was fabulous  and it's really affordable (plus we had a Groupon).  We could of  easily shared John's dinner and been perfectly happy.  Great dinner, check.  Then what?   What exciting thing did we have planned next?? We went home. Home, to NO KIDS and did something glorious! We reorganized our house! We moved ...

Ava's First Day

Image
Monday was Ava's first day of preschool. To be honest I was a little unsure of whether to let her go or not.   It was not that I was going to miss her so much in  the whole 3 hours she would be gone, no I wasn't  struggling with THAT.  No, she was actually acting weird all day, just not quite herself.  Now I know that she has been beyond excited to finally get to go to school so I  figured she must be sick.  She didn't seem too bad off and I thought maybe it was just nerves so I sent her on her way.  She sculpted things out of  play-dough, painted a picture, played outside, did show and tell, learned about the weather that day, studied the letter of the day, had a snack and played with her new friends.  When I picked her up I could tell she didn't feel well. She said she had fun but she just wasn't her happy little excited self.  In the car she told me she had a headache  and this mo...
