Feeling Crafty?!

Image
Or maybe Pinterest-y, I'm generally one of the least crafty people I know.  Any how I made these fancy little jars as gifts for a few friends and family over the holidays.  I thought they turned out pretty cute.    I ended up making and adding some sweet little gift tags too, but they didn't make it into the photo.    Monster Cookies!  I got this whole concept, along with the printable tags from this blog. Such a cute idea! Hopefully I can come up with something fun for next year too.  Let me know if you have any good ideas. : )

Birthday Girl.

Sunday was Norah's birthday.  I feel like we've been on the count down FOREVER.  It's all she's talked about.  I do love her enthusiasm!   Don't let this face fool you, she loved every bit of prep that has gone into her birthday.  This is mid-cupcake making, she wanted chocolate cupcakes to bring to Sunday school.   I can't tell you how much I have been enjoying the girls and I's Sundays together, I love our church and I love how my eyes have really opened up to God showing up in my life in a million little ways every day.  I feel so overwhelmed with blessings.   Cheesy smile nailed.  We were super lucky to have Bayli join us for the weekend.  We even did a little drive practice since her big test is on Monday.  She did so great, I am beyond proud of her!  I would be surprised if she doesn't pass her test with flying colors!    Sugar fan.  Why not?  ...

Details, Details...

Image
For me, throwing a party is so fun. I love the details of it all.   I'm not saying it's not a little stressful, it would be cake if you didn't have two  sick kids hanging on your legs while  you are trying to get things done, but if  you didn't have THAT, there wouldn't be a reason to even have this party,  so there is that.  : )  Party Favors  Wine Charms  Pictures Galore.  Ladybug Crackers I love how these turned out!  SO cute!  Ladybug Cupcakes These cupcakes were supposed to look more like this: but no, they didn't turn out that way exactly. I think my cream cheese wasn't soft enough so it had little chunks & blocked the little  holes on the grass decorating tip I was using. None the less I was just happy the little ladybug candies showed up, I ordered them off of Amazon and they literally showed up an hour & a half  before the...

Craft-Challenged

Image
I love Fall.  We are getting all festive around here. And when I say "all festive" I mean we have  a few pumpkins sitting by our door &  Halloween costumes purchased.   The only other decorating I did was this: Thanks Katharina!!  It really helps having crafty friends!!  I'm trying to get more crafty around here too. This takes a lot of effort, I'm not prone to craftiness  and it's a little of a struggle to encourage messiness.  We've been working on these little rocks, they might end up a rock family with googly eyes. We also made a little 5 senses project the other day it was based on this :   Something I came across on Pinterest I was really  impressed that Ava knew, with no prompting, what  all five of her 5 senses were.  Hers looked a lot like  this one and if I was one of those sentimental moms (or at least a better blogger) I would of at least taken a...

Wine Charms, How Fun!

Image
Ok, I'm not a crafty person, I'm actually quite challenged  in that area, however, I'm feeling pretty happy about  this little project.   A few Easters ago I made these cute wine charms for our champagne flutes: (what's Easter without mimosas?) It's a bit hard to see in the picture but I took a little bag of foam eggs & bunnies from the dollar store, glued them  together, punched a hole in them & added a ribbon.  They were super cute. For Norah's birthday I wanted to come up with something  equally adorable and had the idea to use mini pictures of  Norah on each glass, how cute is that? I started with a photo collage, 4x6, it was about 9 cents, I printed two so I could make the pictures double sided. You could simply glue them together but I thought it would be even cuter if they had a little boarder, I used  1 piece of yellow construction paper & a glue stick.  It only took a few ...
