A look back...

I love that I have this blog.  It is my best way to look back on what's happened, and it keeps all of our memories and photos in order, by date!  I'm so not that organized on my own so this is brilliant! Today, just for fun, we are going to take a look back.  Here are some photos from February of the year I started this blog, 2010:  We had just moved Grandpa into The Springs .  That's also about 40 lbs ago...  Little mini Ava & Colton were loving their new swimming hole.  Little miss already had reached princess status, much to my dismay.  Could she be cuter though, really?? And here's 3 years ago, February 2011:  We were just in the welcoming Norah into our lives stage.  She's about 3 weeks old in these next few pictures.  We liked to torture her from a very early age.  She was a bit skeptical, with good reason.  Tuning us all out worked well for her though.  I'm n...

We had a great 4th of July.   We spent it at home having a little BBQ with friends.   This is only our second year home on the  4th since we moved here 7ish years ago. This neighborhood never disappoints with the  fireworks either.    I searched the world for star shaped cookie cutters, apparently they don't exist.  Next year, swear.  No, I don't Pinterest, why do you ask??   The kids loved the skewers.  They are really safe  for babies.  That is probably why she loved them.   #danger baby  oh and the marshmallows.  That didn't hurt.  Heidi made a beautiful festive cake!   Lots of fireworks, fun had by all. Can't beat that.   Happy 4th of July, hope yours rocked too. Oh and Happy Birthday to me.  This is one  of my favorite presents "Mom's Gonna Snap" could it be mor...

Back to The Springs

Image
Nearly every day we drive by The Springs ,  where Grandpa used to live. Ava always points it out to me,  "Look Mom!!  That's The Springs!  Where Grandpa used to live!!"  Then she gets quiet, "But he died.  But we can  still go there and visit the other old people, Linda is going to take me back there some day..." For eight months I have had that same conversation,  over and over. So yesterday Linda was coming for a visit & we  decided that this should be The Day.   "Ava, Linda is coming over today, we are going to go to  The Springs and have lunch" She looks at me like I have completely lost my mind. "Mom, I'm so sorry, you can't go with us." Apparently this was an "Ava & Linda" thing, little  did I know.  She is always looking for ways to  get away from me, which I really can't blame her. So many days I feel the same way : ) But I did want to go....
