Checking in on past resolutions....

Image
I just came across this  list of my resolutions written in January of 2013 , let's see where we are at with all this. First up was to keep up with: Hot Yoga. Running. Eating Healthy. Check. Check. Check. At that point I was 3 lbs from my goal weight, which was 125, I am 120 now. (Yay!) Here are the things I wanted to work on: Being stronger.   I have to say I am way stronger now.  My focus has shifted to more weights and strength training.  I still have a long ways to go to get my problem areas happier but these things take time... Gaining a healthier body image. I think I am doing MUCH better in this area, still have a ways to go, but there has been definite progress.  I am learning to love myself more and forgive myself for my flaws more.  Self love is such an important thing!  Repairing an unhealthy body is one thing, rewiring an unhealthy brain is a whole other.  I am very grateful for this body, it is strong ...

Healthy February

Or at least that's my goal. I've joined two month of February challenges, a plank challenge, trying to get up to 5 minutes by the end of the month and a push up challenge, trying to get up to 50 pushups by the end of the month as well.  Yikes!! I'm also joining a running group so that should get me out running more too.   Yay for health!   My biggest issue is sugar, I love it and once I eat it I crave it.  Ugh. So I'm also going to try to l...

Health Update

I figured it has been awhile since I shared where I am with my health & running and all of that fun stuff.  I have been really committed to taking good care of my body, and really working towards living more mindfully and intentionally. I have backed off of the running a little, only going between 2-3 times a week, but added in Jillian Michaels Shred videos.  It's a great mix of strength, cardio, and ab work.  I love it!  The best part is that I can do it at home, I don't even have to leave, and the kids love watching me do it.  They even try to do it along with me, so funny! I've been eating 90% clean, drinking a ton of water, doing about 25 minutes of cardio or weights a day as well as 2-3 sessions of Bikram yoga a week.  I've also started journaling what I eat, when I work out, how I'm feeling, what time I go to sleep and how I'm parenting each day.  I think writing these little details down make you much more mindful of what you are do...
