Just Say No.

Just wondering if anyone knows how to say "no" better then me. I am totally failing in that department.

I am trying though.

NOOOOO!!!!!

Grandpa is totally taking over my life.

NO!

He is never happy if I am there 3 or 5 hours, he always wants me to come back.

NO!

It is like he has no idea I have a family I adore and want to spend my time with.

NO!

He is (sort of) thankful but for the most part just totally takes advantage.

NO!

I LOVE HIM! I just want him to be happy and feel better. How do I help him become more independent?

NO!

Or is this just going to get worse???

NO!

Please no.

I was able to tell him no twice in the last few days so I am getting a little better.

Wish me luck.

I hope he starts feeling better soon.

I hope he is able to let go of the constant hand-holding.

I LOVE HIM but I can't take too much more of this.

Boundaries. That is all I need, then I will be able to find my happy place again.

Oh and prayers. Please send some our way.

I am also horrible at saying no, so I can't help you there! I hope he feels better soon :(

I am so sorry that he is still having a hard time :( But no matter what, he is an adult and he can't rely on you all the time...you are an AMAZING granddaughter!!!!

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
