Anniversary Beach Weekend

Image
John & I got to sneak away for the weekend for our anniversary last weekend.  We hit the nine year mark March 4th.  : ) We decided to drive south and hike through Cape Perpetua, which is two miles outside of Yachats. It is such a beautiful area and fun to hike in a new spot! There is a spot here called Thor's Well, I've seen some pretty cool pictures of it online, like this one: The tide wasn't really favorable to see it in all its glory, and you have to be a little crazy to get down there anyway so we took a pass on that one.  Good thing we have the internet to help us see it all close and pretty! Don't be scared, he is stuffed... So much beauty in this world, so fun to explore it! We were blessed with perfect weather.   We even grabbed a bottle of wine, 2 beach chairs and our books and just sat on the beach and soaked it all in.  What a great weekend!...

Anniversary Weekend

John and I had a great time at the beach for the weekend, all by ourselves!   Mom took the kiddos, thanks mom!!!   We immediately hit up a happy hour after we dropped them off.  We tried a new place in McMinnville called  411 Lounge .  They are known for their Bloody Mary's, this one is a Thai Bloody Mary.  YUM!!    I'm not even a fan of Bloody Mary's but this one was delicious!   Next we headed to Lincoln City where we got settled in, then ran some errands, including picking up dinner at Jasmine Thai .  We have a tradition of getting their Pad Kee Mao extra spicy, then crying over how wonderfully delicious and crazy spicy it is.  At first you aren't sure if you can eat it, it's that spicy.  Then you can't stop eating it.  I can't explain it, but you've got to try it!   We mostly stayed in that night playing cards and chatting, it was great! We did run over to the casino briefly to chec...

Angels.

You know I have a thing for taking pictures of these girls while they are sleeping.  They just look so sweet and innocent.   I'm praying they are both on their very best behavior for my mom over the weekend while she watches them for us for our anniversary trip.  8 years, yay!  Little angels. Maybe in two years she won't laugh hysterically at the suggestion that she take them for a week, this time we were kidding, next time we hope to be serious.  10 year anniversary here we come!!  Mexico maybe??  Here's to hoping!   Be good girls!!  You've got to successfully trick grandma!   xoxo

8 years.

Today is a very special day.  We've been married eight years today!  We've been learning a lot of things about each other through the years, all of them making us understand each other better and in turn making our marriage stronger.  It's not always perfect, but I wouldn't want any other person by my side, he is The One. Or more accurately, MY ONE. I can very honestly say that I have never been happier in my life, and it is largely due to being married to my wonderful husband.  I have never felt more freedom to just be myself, I feel surrounded by love and respect, and I can't imagine having anything else more conducive to a good marriage.  He is my best friend, my rock, my heart.  I know he is as proud of me, as I am of him.  We lift each other up and pull each other through.  Our love, our life together, it's a very beautiful thing!  I really couldn't feel more blessed!   Happy 8 year...
