One Week

In one week we will be heading out for a trip to Sacramento, JUST THE TWO OF US.

Yes, that's right, no kids.

Although I'm a little sad they can't join us, I'm way more excited to spend 3 days with John.

I haven't spent more then 1 night away from the kids EVER, as in I have seen them every single day of their lives.

I'm proud of that, but also ready for a break.

Anyhow, we are flying out on Friday & going to a little town called Auburn where we will spend the next 3 days exploring wine country, hiking & most importantly, seeing our beautiful niece Meaghan get married!

We will get to spend some great quality time with our wonderful family.

I couldn't be more excited!

I'm so glad we won't miss Meaghan's wedding & I think it will be really good for us.

I know I'm going to miss the kids like crazy.  I'm trying not to worry about that aspect.  I know they will be having a great time without us.  They are gearing up for a beach trip with my Mom & Auntie Jessica, so they probably won't even have a chance to miss us.

I love that I'm leaving them in good hands, that makes it not just easier to do something like this, but possible.  We are so lucky to have such a great, loving, supportive family in every direction we turn.  We are all so very blessed.

One week, bring it, lets do this!!

Actually, on second thought, I love having things to look forward to, so in many ways I have already gotten a lot out of this trip.

So maybe, rather then rushing to next weekend, I will take this week slow & just soak in this time I have with my kids & the anticipation for things to come...

Comments

Sounds fun, but I totally get the whole leaving your kids for a night or two thing. We are leaving Aubrey overnight for the very first time this weekend, and I am super nervous about missing her too much. But couple time is super important! Hope you two have a blast!
