Daddy's Little Girl

Yesterday was a big day for Miss Ava.
Daddy & Daughter Day.
Ava just about drove us over the edge just to see if she
could get her special day cancelled.

I'm sure that wasn't really her goal but for some reason
unbeknownst to me she decided to get up at 8am.

Now for most children 8am sounds like a pretty pleasant
time to rise, right? I have heard that some parents are
tortured by their sweet little angels as early as 5am!!!

Well for Ava, 8am is not good.
In fact her head spins around and evil radiates from
her at that particular hour.

Little chick needs to sleep in until at least 9am or 10am
to make her the slightest bit tolerable, and really?
I'm okay with that.

Anyhow, we pushed through it, with lots of threats,
tears, and time outs. And eventually they got to start
the nice part of their day.

First they headed to the park, they played for awhile
and when the action was slowing down they went to
ANOTHER park! After that he took her to the pet
store to visit the animals, the dollar store for some treats
and ended it all with a trip to McDonald's to play and
get ice cream!!

As if that all wasn't awesome enough, when they got
home he built her, not one, but several tents in the yard.

She really couldn't of been more thrilled or excited!!
They set up camp and slept out there all night.
They read 100 books, Ava put on a shadow show
for dad and they told stories.
When it was evident that she may never fall asleep
dad pulled out the big guns and got the laptop
and streamed a movie for them to watch together.
Here they are in the morning,
John plotting his escape and Ava happily
sleeping away. She slept in until 10, like a good
little girl! : )
She happily recounted the events of yesterday and
told us how much fun she had sleeping in the tent.

John told her that he needed to take the tent down
and she freaked out!

She threw herself in front of the sliding glass door
and says "I'm never going to let you by dad!!"
We agreed to let her play in there a few more hours and
she finally left her post.
Last night she put this on her head and says
"I guess I'm doctor Ava now."
Little Norah wasn't really involved with the daddy
& daughter day.
But I would bet she has some great fun in her future,
who wouldn't with an awesome dad like John??

AW, that's really sweet! I know that T looks forward to times like this, and I do, too, with our kiddo. Your husband sounds like one awesome dad :-)
