Half Marathon? WHAT!??!

I don't know what's wrong with me.  I swore I would never run a half marathon and now I'm obsessively reading reviews on them.  I have been all over the board on which to do but I think I've finally made my decision.  

The top things I was looking for was A) A pretty route  B) Pretty flat, not hilly at all.  C) Either close by or somewhere I would want to vacation.

I have many I am interested in but the winner just came to me, it's the Foot Traffic Flat!

It's super close to our house, on Sauvie Island, which is nice & scenic and they even put the word FLAT right in the description!  Who can beat that??!

One last reason I knew this was the one for me?  It takes place on Thursday the 4th of July.  Which means that not only is it a fun day anyway, it's the day before my birthday and I can't think of any better way to go into my next year then to celebrate how far I've come in this last one.  : )

I've currently never run further than 7 miles, 13.1 seems like SO MANY.
Yikes!!

Mark my words, I really NEVER will do a full marathon!!

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
