More Fun at the Beach

We are continuing to have a great time at the beach.  Lots of walking, running, hiking, sand-playing, pinochle, great meals, and wonderful company.  I can't complain.  I even found a moment to relax all by myself and read my book in the tub with a glass of wine, pure bliss.

I LOVE hydrangeas!! My husband, who is a total plant guy can for some weird reason NEVER remember their name, which is really funny since we always talk about that fact.  : )  It seems like the ones at the beach are extra vibrant, so pretty!


John has returned home to work now, I MISS HIM!!


Before he left we got to do a nice hike together.  We found a new spot and it was quite pretty!



Erik & Tiffani just celebrated their twelfth anniversary together!  Wow!!

So blessed to be having such a great Summer!  I hope our kids remember some of this stuff as they grow up, I'd bet not, but at least we have the pictures...

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
