Great weekend...

I know I've been a little MIA this week, the girls and I have been at the beach since Friday.  For some reason I never get around to blogging when I am there, I guess I'm just too busy having fun.  I barely took any pictures either, strange, I know. 

The goal of the weekend was to spend some time with Will, Jessica's new boyfriend.  Mom & Linda both hadn't met him yet and we are about to go away together for Thanksgiving and it seemed like we should all get to know him better before that. 
 Will came over for dinner a few weeks ago and we didn't really hit it off, I wasn't so sure about him and I guess the feeling was mutual.  But this time, it was totally different.   I really enjoyed hanging out with him & we all had a great time!  It's really nice to see Jessica happy.  They are cute together.
  
It was, as always, great to hang out with Linda & mom too!  So fun!
 Jessica called me today and said that Will really enjoyed hanging out with the kids, which always gets big points in my book.  I love that Will loves to cook, it's fun talking about cooking together.  He's even agreed to make the turkey for Thanksgiving, mom is so happy!! Yay!
That group all went home on Sunday but the girls and I stayed since Ava had a 5 day weekend.  They barely have school at all in the month of November.  My good friends Kahli & Alma came and stayed the night with me Monday, we had a great dinner together and some crazy good Spanish coffees with a touch of peppermint schnapps added to them, YUM!  I've been trying to get Kahli to come to the beach with me forever, so it made me super happy to finally get her there, and I love Alma too so that was just icing on the cake.

What a great weekend!  It feels like Sunday today, so weird.  I can't believe Thanksgiving is a week away!

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
