13.1 Miles

So the race went very well.  I got up super early (4:30am) & headed out, as to beat the traffic.  Turns out everyone did so it was a little crazy getting in there.  Lines of cars for days.  Once I finally did get parked it was time for the next line, the bathroom.  Must go pee before we get started...
It was a beautiful day, clear skies and not too hot.
I ended up running into a few people I knew in line, which was a nice way to start out.
I felt good through the whole race, which is great.  A lot of running for me is getting stuck in my own head, but running with so many people was nice, it pushed me along through it.  I kept choosing a new pace girl to follow. : )

My Map My Run app didn't start up when I thought it did so it was off the whole time, which was fine, it kept telling me my pace and under estimating how far I'd gone, so in many ways the race was over before I thought it would be.
The setting was beautiful & very flat, it was a great run.

I love the medal!  So pretty!

My goal was to do this in under 2 hours, like 1 hour 59 minutes and 59 seconds.

I was off by 13 seconds!!!!
That's 1 second per mile, how frustrating!!
That's ok, I'm still really happy with my time.

This was the perfect first race for me.
So glad I did it & so glad it's over & done.  : )
