The Graduate.

On Friday we took a family road trip up to Canada to watch my brother Jeff graduate.  It was super fun!  There were 6 of us in the car, of which everyone but the driver was playing a game of Ticket to Ride together on our phones.  We must of played 40 games between the drive there & back! 
We were all so happy to come be with Jeff & watch this HUGE milestone in his life.  We didn't end up getting to see him Friday night but we had a nice family dinner in his honor at a place called Earl's, we had great food and laughed the whole time. 


Jeff's grandparents drove up as well, even though it didn't look promising that they were going to get tickets, but it's good they came, it all worked out!

After the graduation we went out to lunch to celebrate at The Cactus Club, it was great!

Love love love love all my amazing kids! I also love who they choose to love, their friends, not to mention my crazy beautiful grandchildren! So proud and happy to be in this family! Tears of joy seeing our baby Jeffrey and Fernanda graduate! It was super wonderful to meet Fernanda's family, and we had a great time celebrating with them! Great photos Sarah! I love you!

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
