Women's Retreat

Jessica and I had such an amazing weekend away with our ladies from our church.  We stayed at the Christian Renewal Center out in Silverton.  Having never been to a retreat I wasn't sure exactly what to expect.  It turned out to be everything I could of ever wanted in a retreat and so much more.  The surroundings are beyond beautiful, the people were fantastic, the message was amazing, the food was wonderful, and there were so many fun things to do! The very best part is that everyone had the same focus, God's faithfulness, which was the theme of our retreat.

Up early to run : )

 My peeps!
Nichole and Adrianne shared a cabin with Jessica & I.
 Sisters!
 They even have a zip-line!

  Love her.
 And her.
 She's pretty awesome too!

 So fun!

Us girls decided to do a quick hike, then go back to camp for s'mores and some rest before dinner.  We ended up taking a wrong turn several miles in, which left us super far out.  Our "little" hike turned into TEN MILES!!  We were so worried about missing dinner once we realized how long it was going to take us to get back that we ended up running some of it.  So all in all, Lauren and I did 13 miles that day of running and hiking, completely unintentionally.  : )

It was so beautiful, can't think of a better spot to get lost!

Happily we made it back in time for dinner, which coincidentally was one of the best meals I've ever had!  It was a yummy grilled chicken with a bacon cream sauce (scraped that off) baked sweet potatoes and yams, roasted veggies, salad with homemade cucumber-yogurt dressing and fresh baked bread.  There was even a lemon cream cake for dessert.  The family that runs this place puts so much love into the food they make, it really shows!

Our speaker for the weekend was Judy Slaughter, she was so awesome!!  Her wisdom, grace and heart came through so very boldly, she was such a gift to us all!!
This was such a great experience for me, I was so very blessed and happy to share it with my sister, what a great, great blessing!
We were each assigned a passage from the bible, and I couldn't love mine more, Matthew 5:14-16, which reads:

14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
