Sushi Party

Last weekend we were also at the beach for a very fun sushi party with Matt, Rhi, & Tiffani.  We were only missing Erik, but it was still really fun!  We had fantastic weather, none of us wanted to leave the sand.  It was all the perfect prelude to a wonderful sushi feast!

 Yummy rice crispy sushi.  I wish I could say I didn't eat a ton of this stuff.  I didn't want to like it but it was soooo good!!

 Rhi and I went on a bike ride.  It was so fun!  I made it to the top of the hill (just barely) and turn around to see how Rhi's doing, and then I died laughing.  I just love her.

 We rode to the store to get butter.  So yeah, where does one put butter once you have it??

 Yummy food for days!! 

Such a fun weekend!  Grateful for these wonderful people!!

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
