More on Lily

Vickie, the lady that adopted Lily sent me the photo I shared recently the day she got home with her. It was really nice of her and such a cute photo:
I was afraid to ask how things were going since but I knew I needed to for my own peace of mind so I emailed her again inquiring about how Lily was doing now that they have had just over a week together.

Here is the email she sent back along with a few more pictures:

She has totally adjusted. She sleeps in bed with us under the covers. She has even touched noses with the horses. She loves going in the car. She even ate a pair of my P.J.'s. She knows she rules the roost here. You are more then welcome to come see her if it helps. She even has more toys then our kids ever had. She has seen the vet and is up to date on everything now. Hoping that in a month she can go ride with me. I just love the way she spazes after a bath. I never leave home without her.

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
