From the beach....

Ava and I have run off to the beach again.
This time we are avoiding being home as not to get in
John's way as he remodels our kitchen!

What kind of pregnant wife would I be if I didn't insist on a
kitchen remodel BEFORE our baby arrives??

What kind of husband would he be if he didn't put it off
until the last minute??

Oh-well, what ever works I say. I am just sooooo excited!

Billy, Trevor & 3 of their kids joined us too.
The kids always pick the best toys to play with.
I WANT ONE!!

Our friends left us, I feel like crying too : )

This evening Ava and I hung out just the two of us.
We drove down to Depot Bay and caught a beautiful
view of the sunset.
Hopefully my mom will join us tomorrow,
this place just isn't as fun without people to share it with.

I am so excited to see the kitchen when I get home!!

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
