Dress Up


Ava got this really cool magnetic dress up doll for her birthday from her good friend Sammy. She really loves playing with this toy.

Lily is a little scared she will be dressed up next:

She thinks if she keeps moving it may help her case.


Ava told me she was going to change the dolls diapers so I of course explained that this doll is a big girl and she wears underwear LIKE BIG GIRLS DO, hint, hint.

So she insisted on putting underwear on the doll.

She tried a few different pairs before she was happy with the result.

Then ultimately decided she should try them on too.

This was short lived of course. Oh well, all in good time.

Thank you again Tracy and Sammy, she loves her gift!!

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
