Send HELP!

Norah spends the majority of her wakeful time doing this:
She is a grumpy little baby. If she is not eating or
being rocked back to sleep she is mad.
In fact sometimes she is even mad while being rocked
to sleep.
And then if you are successful and get her to sleep
she generally stays that way for about 2.5 minutes.
And then the cycle starts over.
Fun.
We know this is a stage. Ava went through it full
force. In fact I thought that meant we would get an
easy baby this time since Ava was so challenging.

Isn't that how things work?

Apparently not.

Oh well. At least we are seasoned professionals.
We even know that someday there will be an end in sight,
and someday she may be just as happy as her
adorable big sister.
In the mean time? Send help! And vodka, thanks.

the only thing about this that is funny is that I was planning to mention that while you say Norah does a lot of crying, her posted pictures are precious and sweet looking....well here's our dose of your reality! I love that she happens to be wearing a shirt that says "cutie" while screaming her head off. Good thing Ava broke you in and trained you, right?

Is it bad that I think she still looks cute while crying? Sorry about the torture you're going through. Keep saying "it's a phase" because it'll be over soon and she'll be happy all the time :-)

In the meantime, vodka doesn't hurt...

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
