Getting out of the house...

We have been getting out and about a bit more
these days. The other day we went down town and
visited Auntie Jessica. She needed to show off
the new baby to all her coworkers.
We had a nice lunch with Auntie, followed by a trip
to the park, a quick visit with Grandpa and a little
Costco run. Norah's biggest adventure yet, she did
great up until the last 10 minutes of our ride home.
Last night we met up with our friends Sammy & Tracy
at Pump it Up and got to see an exotic animal show.
They had a giant turtle, two snakes, an iguana and 2
bunny rabbits, I didn't even realize bunnies are reptiles! : )

Norah slept through her first Pump it Up experience,
minus the drive to and from where she practiced her
loudest screaming voice, it was lovely, I think she has it down.
Sammy gave Ava this little purple toy which she is now
calling her baby. Last night she announced that her baby
is hungry, pulled up her dress and says "Where is my nipple?"
This is why I haven't been wearing many dresses lately.

It is so fun dressing Norah in the same little
outfits we dressed her sister in a few years back.
Here is Ava all decked out in her dolls hair accessories.
I would find this more cute if it didn't rip out half her
hair as she tried to remove them : )

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. At one point she peed on the floor and looked up at me...

New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
