A Few Pictures from Mother's Day

I love this little outfit Ava wore to our Mother's Day get-together.
We had a small gathering at The Springs.
We had a nice brunch & no Moms had to cook! : )

At some point I looked over and Ava was hopping around on the floor.
We were in the middle of the restaurant so I wasn't thrilled with this idea.
"Ava, please get off the floor!"
"Mommy I HAVE to be a frog right now!!"

Good thing I dressed her in green, right?

She got to see her beloved Abby.
After the brunch Abby's piano teacher sang and played for us.
I had to run off to work but it looks like everyone had a great time.

I love this shot. Linda and Grandpa crack me up.
I love my family!

Adventures in Potty Training...

I began potty training Ava right around the time she turned one. I broke out the potty and began encouraging away. She faked interest in the beginning but soon it became apparent that the child was a little hopeless, to say the least. Throughout the year that followed I realized that this strong willed child would need a little more time, as well as mom backing the heck off. Before she turned two I came across a blog a mom was writing who made a bold statement of parents simply being lazy if they aren't potty training their kids very quickly. I was so mad about when I read that but also felt like maybe she was right all at the same time. It motivated me to simply take away Ava's diapers and sort of force her into being ready. I spent the entire day encouraging her as she had accident after accident. She managed to pee in her potty about 4 times and everywhere else about 347 times. I was so stressed out, so was she. New Pool!

We just got a new pool, the kids are pretty excited.  They've spent a lot of time playing in it already.  These were all taken right after we finished blowing it up.  : ) So much fun!

Birthday Fun

Here we have it, little chick turned 4. It was a fun day packed full of all the  things Ava loves, family, friends,  playing, eating sweets, the day couldn't  of been more perfect. Love our little four year old!! This is going to be a great year. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
