The Worst & Best Day Ever

Friday I had a meltdown. I honestly hardly ever break down but this was really, really bad. My health hasn't been super awesome lately with the bronchitis followed by the flu, and then the continuing cough that just won't quit. As I may of mentioned we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and where that is the most wonderful thing on so many levels it is just not doing my asthma any favors. There is literally dust everywhere and fumes. Oh and clutter which inherently brings me anxiety on a normal day and this level of clutter is unbearable. So as you can imagine my asthma has been anything but under control for some time now. I have been downing inhalers every few minutes just hoping to breath. My doctor warned me that such lack of oxygen was bad for the baby but I didn't really have a solution. I was drowning in stress. I needed to clean up the mess of a house but I was crippled by my lack of breathing, which leads to crying, which leads to less air, which leads ...

Good Times.

Not a lot of blogging going on over here these days. Our house is in chaos and we sent our favorite girl away. Yes, Ava is at Grandmas. My picture taking is at a stand-still. These are a few I took the other day of her playing with Lily who is still here by the way. We have been in no rush to deal with that, which is nice because I am really enjoying her company. Our household hasn't been exactly well for sometime now we all have been battling a pretty bad cough, not a good mix with all this construction grit in the air. Yesterday for no good reason at all I got the flu! I never get the flu. Not the way you want to spend any of your time while 9 months pregnant, although it does make you appreciate the normal discomforts of pregnancy : ) So really it was good Ava was at Grandma's, I may not of been real helpful with the kitchen but I think I avoided getting her sick. She should be coming home today. Which is REALLY good news, I miss her!!!

It's a dirty job but...

Our house has been taken over by dust, dirty dishes and stuff everywhere. But it is all in the name of Progress. John has been working crazy hard to get our kitchen remodeled. As with most things of this nature, it is taking longer then anticipated. But it is looking great!! I don't really see an end in sight but there has to be one right? RIGHT?? My back up plan is to do all my cooking out of this drawer. And I know just the girl to help me...

From the beach....

Image
Ava and I have run off to the beach again. This time we are avoiding being home as not to get in John's way as he remodels our kitchen! What kind of pregnant wife would I be if I didn't insist on a kitchen remodel BEFORE our baby arrives?? What kind of husband would he be if he didn't put it off until the last minute?? Oh-well, what ever works I say. I am just sooooo excited! Billy, Trevor & 3 of their kids joined us too. The kids always pick the best toys to play with. I WANT ONE!! No, REALLY, I want one!! A little walk to the beach... At least the coat still zips, right? Billy is an amazing photographer! This is about as close as we got, the tide was totally in. I love this picture. Fake cry. Our friends left us, I feel like crying too : ) This evening Ava and I hung out just the two of us. We drove down to Depot Bay and caught a beautiful view of the sunset. Hopefully my mom will join us tomorrow, this place just isn't as fun without people to share it with. I a...

Funny Little Ava

So it turns out I am not the only one pregnant in this household. Ava is too. Don't worry, she knows she needs to be married first, so sometimes she is married to daddy, sometimes me and sometimes auntie Jessica. For some reason she related dancing to being married, she often dresses up like this, dances around and says "See, I am married now" She talks about the baby in her tummy all the time. Sometimes it is a girl, her name is always Norah, how original. Sometimes it is a boy, his name is Colton. Not sure how I feel about that. The best is all her pregnancy symptoms. The other day she was laying on the couch looking as sick as a dog, she looked up at me simply miserable, I asked her how she felt. She says "Mommy I don't feel good, I am really, really sick." What's wrong Ava??? "My hips are really, really sore and my nipples hurt." Lovely, just lovely. : )

Ok, for real this time, Happy New Year!

So as it seems the New Year may not have started off exactly the way one would wish but lets not let that get us running and hiding and concerned about the entire year to come. There is so much to be thankful for. And so many wonderful things to come. So this year may have big shoes to fill but lets not judge the first few days on what's the entire year has in store for us. Really it's all in the way we handle the situations life throws at us. And so far? I am nothing but impressed with the way my little family handles the good and the bad. Happy New Year!
