Our Little Lady

Image
I sent Ava to bring me some pj's and a diaper the other night and she came back with these. This is the second time she has worn them and I knew we were in for a treat because she gets pretty hilarious when she wears these jammies . You see the pants are super silky and she has never worn silky pj's they get her all excited. The shirt says "Little Lady" so she calls them her Lady Pants. She runs around the house saying things like "Look, a little lady over here!" This little lady make me smile. And she IS turning into quite the little lady. Even before she started wearing Lady Pants.

Texts from last night....

You may of seen some of these. They are usually really funny, well this one really touched me, it made me cry. I have loved Bayli forever. She came into my life at the age of two, a brand new two. She didn't love me the first day but I think by the second day I had her. I used to date her dad a million years ago, he was never much of a dad so at some point I took over. I have had visiting rights ever since. I never really felt like her mom appreciated what Bayli and I had. It made since, I would have a hard time with it too. But last night, for the first time ever, she told me. Something I have never expected but ALWAYS wanted to hear. What a gift. Here it is, the text messages, as they appeared on my phone. (I must share this because it means the world to me and I want to remember it forever.) First a little background...earlier today Bayli made a strange comment on facebook saying she is really disappointed in her friend for the terrible choices she has made. She calle

Friends!

The other day when we went to the beach for the night we decided to invite ourselves to dinner at Matt & Rhi's house. Really that wasn't our intention, we wanted to go see them and it just happened to be dinner time. They didn't seem to mind too much. They are very gracious hosts. While we were there Ava discovered something she loved... POWER TOOLS! Look at that look!! You can see why Tyler looks scared. This next set of pictures is from our trip to The Children's Museum. Billy, Amelie and Ben joined us. The kids had a great time playing together. I think we stayed for over 2 hours, more then we can usually handle. Brushing the alligator's teeth. Shopping Just being cute! Driving an ambulance Getting their checkup Playing in the water Directing the show Getting a massage Very fun to play with friends. Wish we could have a play-date everyday!

Bedroom Facelift

I was pursuing through this weeks Target ad when I came across this bedroom 8-piece set: It was only $65 and I HAD to have it. Not just because I LOVE brown & blue together but the biggest and best reason is that I have had this same comforter for about 10 years. Yes, 10 years, that just seems sooooo wrong when I think about it. I did buy one other green one but I think my dog ate that one. I didn't love it anyway. So I went to Target on the first day of their ad, ready to buy that little brown and blue number. Guess what? They only had one left and it was for a queen bed. I tracked down a guy who worked there to help me and he looked up other Targets that might carry it. Get this, first day, not one single target had even one in stock?!! WTF ? Is this even legal to use it IN the ad? Bitches. So I basically stood in the aisle for about 2 hours and pondered what would be my second choice. I always try to think about the reason this sort of thing is happening, like the pl

Literally.

Sorry Lily...

Notice the "necklace" That is Lily's collar. Ava wishes I would let her wear it every minute of the day, including when we leave the house. That is not happening... no matter how good of a dog she is.

Packing

Image
We decided to take off today for a quick over-night trip to the beach. Just for fun I told Ava to go pack her suitcase. This is what she came back with. A suitcase full of diapers. Not clothes, not toys, just diapers. Apparently she is not planning on giving these things up anytime soon. Clearly I need to work on this.

"Take my picture!!"

Well she doesn't have to tell me twice... Cute new shoes, thanks Grandma! I am here for her. A girl after my own heart.

We Love Tyler!

This is Tyler. He came to play for the day on Saturday. I was worried at first he wasn't going to get over Matt leaving. He was a little sad and really clingy. He kept asking for " Da - Da " So different from Ava who is ready to ditch us the second she gets a better offer. Once he let me set him down he was able to move on a little, he resolved to looking out the window for his daddy. Ava told him daddy was out there working. She meant her daddy. He found this comforting even though he didn't really get which dad was out there. Tyler was a little angel. The two of them were just so stinking cute together. Serious cuteness. Ava LOVES Tyler. But really what is not to love? Matt told me that when he was ready for a nap he would tell me. Um. Sure, yeah, right. Well Tyler started going over to Ava's crib and telling me "night-night" at about 10:30. Then again at 11:00, and then 11:30. I wasn't sure he should go down that early so I stretched him until 12
